Text Message Privacy Policy

Effective June 26, 2026

This Is It uses text messages to send important community updates to members who choose to receive them. Text messages may include mentions, gathering RSVP updates, care or prayer updates, urgent gathering changes, account recovery codes, and occasional admin test or announcement messages.

Consent

You receive recurring text messages only if you provide a phone number and check the text-message consent box in your profile. The consent language states the types of messages you may receive, that message frequency varies with community activity, that message and data rates may apply, and that you can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not required to use This Is It.

What We Collect

For text messaging, we store your phone number, whether text notifications are enabled, quiet-hour preferences, message delivery logs, and opt-out status.

How We Use Phone Numbers

We use phone numbers only to operate This Is It text messaging, including sending requested notifications, account recovery codes, delivery-status tracking, and honoring opt-out requests.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information for marketing. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes. Text messaging data may be processed by service providers, such as Twilio, only as needed to deliver and manage messages.

Message Frequency and Cost

Message frequency varies based on community activity and your notification settings, usually a few messages per week. Message and data rates may apply.

Opt Out

You can turn off text notifications in your profile at any time. You can also reply STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to opt out of text messages.

Help

If you need help with text messages, contact an administrator in This Is It or reply HELP.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version will be posted on this page.
